I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated to my skydive.
We completed the skydive just over a week ago now, Saturday 21st June. There was a group of us doing it for The Harley Jae Trust throughout the day, however my team were first up: me, my mum, and my friend Louise.
Once we’d had our briefing, we headed to a minibus that took us to the plane. By this point, my nerves had briefly turned into excitement, especially when the plane took off, though It felt like we were in a VR simulation, even more so once we put our goggles on.

Louise was the first of our team to go, and my mum was the last — both of whom I’m incredibly proud of for doing it with me. All I could do was sit and watch as Louise made her way to the edge. With a mix of “no!” and “oh God,” she was gone. I actually blinked and missed it, it happened that fast. There was no time to think, and then it was my turn.
Each time anyone's asked how it was, I have started with "nothing like you'd imagine," which is true. Even though we were falling at about 120mph, it didn't feel like we were falling and if anything it was relaxing. Especially once the parachute opened.
It feels odd to say, but I felt really safe dangling from what is basically a bit of fabric. I looked up and saw my mum, who was apparently getting a tour of the local sights, having the time of her life spinning and zooming around.
When we landed back on the ground, even if I couldn't find my balance for the first couple of seconds, I wanted to go up again!
As soon as I saw others who I knew were doing it for the charity, I ran over to them, raving about how amazing it had all been - trying to boost their confidence for their own jumps, knowing how nervous we had all been in the many days countdown to it.
I am proud of everyone who did it with me, and so grateful to have been a part of it all. It was an absolutely incredible experience, for an incredible cause.
All the best,
Sophie xxx
